Rio Round Up: Week 2

  • Ryan Lochte: Michael Phelps’ sidekick and three other U.S. swimmates were robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning by thieves posing as police officers. The thieves forced the swimmers, who were all in U.S. Olympic gear, to lie on the ground as they stole their belongings. Lochte had the most Lochte response ever to being held at gunpoint and told to lie on the ground, “...I put my hands up, I was like 'whatever.'”  UPDATE: They lied. And no, there is no medal for lying.

  • Sarah Robles: She took home the bronze in weightlifting, specifically the women’s over-75-kilogram. It’s the first weightlifting medal for the U.S. in 16 years. #GirlPower

  • Abbey D'Agostino & Nikki Hamblin: Runner from the US and New Zealand who collided with each other during the women’s 5,000M. They encouraged each other to get up and finish the race. True Olympic spirit and sportsmanship right there!

Don’t you just love when celebrity drama unfolds on social media? Well we do, especially when it’s a former young, hot Hollywood couple. The former couple known as Jelena (aka Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez) had a juicy fued that took Instagram by storm. It all started when the Biebs uploaded several pics of him and his probable GF, Sofia Richie. Due to all the “hate” he received because of those photos, he threatened to make his Instagram private if it continued. Selena had something to say about that and called the Biebs out for being “mad at his fans. Then he replied her comment, and she replied back. AHHH how do we handle all the drama!?! After everything was said and said some more, the Biebs deleted his Instagram account all together. Sad. All love.

Adele took time from her concert in Los Angeles to address the rumor mill. She confirmed that she is not pregnant but she is indeed having a cheese baby. The songstress also said that she turned down the opportunity to play at the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston. Her reason? *said in our bloody best British accent* "I know I'm not Beyoncé, I can't dance or anything like that.” No, you are not Beyoncé, you are Adele and you enjoy as much cheese as you bloody well please!

The Google version of FaceTime has finally arrived. Alphabet has launched Google Duo, a one-to-one video calling app. The app has a feature called “Knock Knock,” which allows the receiver to see live video of their caller before they answer. So now you’ll really know if you want to answer that call...or not.

The cutest, Finding Nemo-like, sea creature was spotted by Nautilus off the coast of California. The adorable wide-eyed, squid-like animal is known as Rossia pacifica and can be found burying itself under the sand of the ocean floor (even though it looks like an octopus). Can someone please alert Disney to give this animal its own movie?
