Earlier this week, three suicide bombers attacked Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport, one of the world’s busiest travel hubs, killing 43 people and injuring more than 230. Investigations are underway but the attackers are believed to be from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. No terrorist group has officially claimed responsibility for the attack but here’s lookin’ at you ISIS.
SocialToaster sends our thoughts and prayers are with Istanbul, especially with all the victims and their families.
So it's gonna be forever or it's gonna go down in flames. Swifties in China are cashing in on Taylor Swift’s ever changing, ever popular love life by taking out “break up” insurance, offered by e-commerce giant Taobao. Should she and her most recent blank spaceTom Hiddleston break up, sellers of the “insurance plan” will pay buyers double of what they originally paid. Users have also been placing bets on whether or not #HiddleSwift make it to the one year mark. So grab your loose change folks, bets start at 1 yuan or $0.15 in US dollars.
Speaking of Taylor Swift’s love life, her ex-boyfriend Harry Style aka “the fella over there with the hella good hair” is also getting out of a relationship and sort of getting into another. Harry Styles, the One Direction boy bander with the magical mop of hair, is officially going solo. As a band, One Direction is currently on “an extended hiatus” so Styles’ return to the studio should help ease the empty void that Directioners have been feeling during their absence.
Kanye is gonna be Kanye. The rapper dropped his new video for “Famous” and there are definitely some famous faces (and other body parts) in the video. The video features 12 of the most famous people in the world, such as Donald Trump, Rihanna, his wife Kim Kardashian, and because we haven’t mentioned her enough yet, Taylor Swift, naked...in bed...together. Because the world’s most awkward sleepover is art right? And naturally, in klassic Kanye fashion,he dared his video mates to sue him.
Women’s basketball and the sports world lost an icon and legend on Tuesday. Pat Summitt died at the age of 64 after a five year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the head coach of the University of Tennessee’s Lady Volunteers basketball team for 38 years (she got the job when she was only 22 years old), which led her to become the winningest coach in the history of major college basketball. That take female sports haters! She won eight national titles and 1,098 games, the most by a Division 1 basketball coach, male or female. She and her scary intense sideline glare will be missed.

Finally someone has answered Justin Bieber’s age-old question, “Is it too late now to say sorry?”Pope Francis told reporters that the Roman Catholic Church should apologize to gay people. Why would the Church apologize? Well, it hasn’t treated gay people very well in the past. His Holiness also said that the Church should show them a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T, not judge them. God forbid someone love someone else right?
And the apologies just keep on coming. Justin Timberlake tweeted an apology after the angry Twitter army came after him for his “we are the same” tweet during Jesse Williams’ BET Awards speech. Users accused JT, a white singer, of appropriating black culture but Timberlake defended himself tweeting that he was misunderstood and that he is inspired by Williams. Why can’t we all just tweet along?
Fun fact: DYK that adults in the US consume 10 hours, and 39 minutes of media a day? Shockingly enough, that time is only up one whole hour from last year.
