We’ve gathered the most relevant, noteworthy, interesting (and sometimes ridiculous) social media stories and tips of the week to keep you in the loop. Here’s what you missed:
It was a good week for startup, Hearsay Social. The software-as-a-service social management platform announced that it has raised $30 million in Series C Funding.
LinkedIn is also looking to raise some money, a mere $1 billion to be exact. The company rattled off a plethora of reasons for the cash, but some believe an acquisition could be in store.
It turns out being on Snapchat is better than attending Fashion Week! Rebecca Minkoff plans to debut her Spring 2014 collection on the photo messaging app a few minutes before they walk down the runway.
Speaking of Snapchat, Twitter just created its own version, called Spirit. The service lets users set an expiration time for their tweets with a simple hashtag.
In other news, Uber just nabbed its first sports deal. The tech-powered transportation service has partnered with the NFL Players Association to produce special services to the players.
Path, the social network for close friends and family, is getting even more exclusive. The network announced a slew of new features on Thursday, including a new way for users to share posts with targeted groups of friends.
In social train wreck news, Air Berlin lost the baggage of an entire flight and furious passengers took to social media to complain about it. Needless to say, the airline’s Facebook and Twitter pages became a mesmerizing spectacle of shame and apology.
Speaking of train wrecks, there’s a new ice cream out, and it’s “Facebook” flavored. An ice cream shop in Tisno came up with the idea by mixing blue syrup on top of vanilla ice cream. Apparently it tastes like sugary sweets and chewing gum.
In other ridiculous news, there’s a new service that allows you to video chat with your dog. Dubbed, iCPooch, the internet enabled device lets you not only talk to, but dispense treats to your pup from just about anywhere.

For all you Duck Dynasty fans out there, you’ll be happy to know that Uncle Si is passing down all of his years of wisdom in a new book, aptly titled, Si-Cology 1: Tales and Wisdom From Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle.
Speaking of A&E shows, the network is in production of a new reality show entitled “Crazy Hearts: Nashville”, which follows the lives of up and coming country music artists. Watch to see if Jeff Bridges makes an appearance.
