Creating a VIP Customer Program to Increase Website Traffic and Link Visits to Sales

Background: 

Since 1914 Shofer’s Furniture has been providing exquisite home furnishings to discerning customers in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Objective: 

Implement a dynamic website and social marketing campaign to drive sales to the store, promote product offerings, and complement the retailer’s pre-existing television and print campaign.

Solution: 

VMT launched a robust web site using Drupal, an open source content management system, and featuring the SocialToaster for Drupal module. This integration allowed any new content created on shofers.com, such as a blog or sales promotion to be broadcast to the social networks of Shofer’s Ambassadors with just one click.

In an effort to drive traffic to this new content, Shofer’s deployed the Shofer’s Ambassador Program in two phases. In part one, Shofer’s employees signed up and began broadcasting Shofer’s content to their social network accounts. In the second wave, VMT helped to establish a VIP Customer program, which enlisted retail customers to sign up as Ambassadors in exchange for valuable discounts and other store-related incentives.
