Marketing & Social Media Intern

Job Description:
Working closely with members of VMT’s leadership team, the marketing and social media intern provides support for web applications, social networking, and web & graphic design.

Responsibilities:

• Competitive research on social marketing software industry
• Assists in maintaining VMT corporate web site as well as SocialToaster web site
• Works closely with marketing staff to execute communications projects and plans including conceptualizing, writing, editing, graphic design, delivery and evaluation
• Assists with graphic design projects including web design, sales presentations, product demos, advertisements and brochures
• Manages social marketing campaigns for VMT & SocialToaster including blog and newsletter writing
• Supports sales team with proposals as needed

Requirements:

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in business, marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field
• Knowledge of web and graphic design
• Familiarity with multiple social networking platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
• Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of communication projects simultaneously and on deadline
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team, exercising sound judgment to achieve goals
• Self-Motivated
• Willing and eager to learn new technologies

Desired:

• Interest in social media and its applications for word of mouth marketing
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop and other design software
• Demonstrated understanding of electronic communications tools and media; ability to prepare reports and maintain records using Microsoft Office software
• General business acumen
